Civil Process Unit



Civil Process is a branch of the Fugitive Division.  This unit is comprised of officers that primarily handle civil matters.  These officers serve court documents that include subpoenas, executions, replevin, lockout orders, protection orders and other various documents.  Civil Process receives approximately 700 civil papers per month.

The following is a list of the current charges for serving civil process:
One (1) document at one (1) address = $35.00


An additional document at the same address is an additional $1.00 per document.

The money for civil process to be served is collected whether it is served, not found or canceled.

 

The Civil Process Unit can only serve papers to individuals or businesses that are located within DeSoto County.  If the individual or business to be served is located outside of DeSoto County, please contact the respective Sheriff's Department in the county where the individual or business is located.

 
Instructions for service:

You must provide the address where the individual or debtor usually resides or is employed.  (No P.O. Box address will be accepted)
